Ritual for forgivness and reconciliation - Ho’oponopono
Being a yoga teacher is a big honour for me. Bringing light, inspiration, faith into my students’ hearts cheers my spirit enormously up. At the same time, I am as all of you, sometimes facing a lot of life challenges. But I am always trying to keep my intention to look at them from the point of spirit. This helps me a lot. Sometimes it can be really difficult assignment: some people, situations or something within as a destructive feeling or thought towards ourself.
Here, I want to encourage you to see in every life situation, especially the most difficult ones, a lesson and opportunity for practice. Don’t try to escape it or numb it with any external stimulations (drugs, overworking, alcohol, overconsuming, exessive talk etc.), but fully embrace it. To be able to cope with these challenging moments I propose you to try one beautiful Hawaiian practice – meditation for forgiveness and reconciliation - Ho’oponopono.
According to this practice, the physical Universe is a reflection of our inner world, our thoughts. And if we have a problem with somebody/something, it is time ”to correct this mistake”. Finding peace in our mind, we will bring harmony into the external world as well.
The key phrase of Ho’oponopono: ”The world starts from me!”. This practice proposes to repeat constantly around 2-3 minutes (engaging fully your emotions and feelings) 4 simple statements:
I love you.
I’m sorry.
Please, forgive me.
Thank you.
While you are pronouncing this text (inside or out loud) you are also visualizing the person with whom you had a conflict or the painful situation or your aspect like a feeling of guilt, fears etc. I propose you several audio examples from Youtube*, but feel free to make it up your own way.
I was testing this theory by myself and was amazed by the results. So, I hope, it will serve you. Keep your Universe in peace. And the external world will smile you back.
With Love.
